- Peace Corps Volunteer 1965-67 Rural Community Development
- Taught high school, elementary school, community college and five universities teaching early childhood through doctoral candidates and trained teachers in 26 states
- Conducted public policy work for 27 years in the areas of teacher and teacher development
- Served on educational foundations, committees and boards across the country, in California and locally
- Served as a parent volunteer in my son’s classrooms and most recently as a school board member for 8 years
