Angileena Hayes

Supervisor for Intervention and Prevention Programs, San Juan Unified

Originally hailing from the Bay Area and navigating the challenges of a single-parent household, Angileena Hayes emerged as a first-generation college student, overcoming multiple generational barriers. She is an alumna of Sacramento State University, holding a Bachelor of Arts in Ethnic Studies with a concentration in Pan-African Studies. Driven by her commitment to community, Angileena, a natural problem solver, returned to academia. Recently graduating from the University of Nevada, Reno, she now holds a Master of Science in Diversity and Equity in Education.

With over 15 years of experience, Angileena is an influential and innovative teaching professional, deeply invested in students' cognitive and social growth. Serving as a Supervisor for Intervention and Prevention Programs with the San Juan Unified School District, she actively participates in various aspects of education, including curriculum development, professional communities, teacher and student mentoring, student career preparation, and social and emotional learning.

In addition to her role within the school district, Angileena is the visionary founder of Hayes Healing Consulting Firm. Her dedication is evident in fostering healing within the Black community through the principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). With a primary focus on cultivating an equitable educational landscape, she employs practices such as restorative justice, culturally responsive teaching training, and anti-racist workshops.

Angileena Hayes is not just an educator; she is a catalyst for positive change. Her journey from a challenging background to becoming a sought-after professional is a testament to her resilience and commitment to making a lasting impact on education and community healing.
