San Juan Education Foundation Grant Policies

  • Open to all San Juan Unified school-site staff members (certified and classified), including dependent Charter schools.

  • Limit of one grant per individual per school year.

  • Grants may not be used for professional development, direct staffing expenses, or airfare/lodging.

  • Submission of required reports is essential to remain eligible for future grants.

  • Award recipients must accept the grant within 15 days or forfeit the opportunity.

Academic Achievement: Referring to the level of success a student attains in their educational pursuits, including both Academic and Career Technical Education learning, encompassing not only grades and test scores but also the development of critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, creativity, and the ability to apply knowledge in real-world situations, essentially signifying the progress made towards acquiring knowledge and skills within any educational setting across various disciplines.


Accessible: Eliminating barriers to learning—whether physical, cognitive, or technological—by ensuring all students have the necessary resources, support, and opportunities to succeed. This includes providing accommodations, utilizing inclusive teaching strategies, and offering materials in various formats to address diverse needs.


Dynamic: Creating an active and flexible learning environment where diverse and evolving teaching methods, resources, and classroom interactions keep students engaged, while fostering growth, responsiveness, and adaptability in both students and educators.


Engaging: Stimulating curiosity and enthusiasm by capturing students’ attention and motivating them to actively participate through interactive, interesting, and inspiring instruction that makes learning enjoyable and memorable.
