SSAC Student Scholarship
The Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council (SSAC) aims to develop initiatives and amplify student voices to create positive change. Working in partnership with the superintendent and staff, this group manages and selects students to receive scholarships through this fund.
Eligible to apply: Any graduating senior with post-high school education plans
Award: $500 scholarship (Ten scholarships will be awarded)
CAL WORTHINGTON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship honors Cal Worthington, a decorated WW2 veteran who later became a legendary car dealer and one of the most successful farmers in California. Seeking to remember Cal Worthington, this scholarship provides young people an opportunity to continue their education in some of the areas that were meaningful to him.
Eligible to apply: Graduating seniors (or adults completing their GED/Diploma) planning to continue their education in automotive technology, the military, media arts, aviation, business, agriculture, or the culinary arts
Awards: One qualified student from each of San Juan Unified's nine high schools and one student from the alternative education high schools will be eligible for a $1,500 scholarship. One student from Encina High School and one student from San Juan High School will be eligible for a $2,000 scholarship. Additionally, there is one $1,500 scholarship available for students in San Juan Unified’s Adult Education Program who have received their GED/diploma in the current school year.
SUSTAINABILITY SCHOLARSHIP
Three Sustainability Scholarships of $1,000 each will be offered again this year thanks to Republic Services, a national recycling firm serving over 2,700 municipalities and communities nationwide, and the City of Citrus Heights.
Eligible to apply: Any San Juan Unified graduating senior residing in the City of Citrus Heights and is interested in pursuing a career in environmental studies or sustainability
Award: Three $1,000 scholarships
BRENT BOULTINGHOUSE CULINARY ARTS SCHOLARSHIP
Established to honor Brent Boultinghouse, the long-time culinary arts instructor at San Juan High School who treated his students “like the budding culinary professionals they one day would be,” this scholarship honors the incredible legacy left by Mr. Boultinghouse when he passed away in 2020.
Eligible to apply: For graduating seniors participating in the CTE Culinary Arts Program at San Juan High School planning to continue their education in the culinary arts
Award: One $1,000 scholarship
Sacramento Women’s Chorus Jean Schultz Memorial Performing Arts Scholarship
For over 35 years the Sacramento Women’s Chorus has been performing in the Sacramento Area to honor peace, justice, and social equality. The Sacramento Women’s Chorus is a proud Best Practices Gala Choruses Member, The Gala Choruses Organization leads the North American LGBTQ choral movement. This scholarship recognizes and celebrates young women who love the performing arts. Jean Schultz was a 20+ year member of SWC and was an integral part of its tremendous growth, she served in many roles and was President for several years. Jeanie passed away in July 2023, and she is sorely missed.
Eligible to apply: Graduating seniors from El Camino and Mira Loma High Schools who identify as Female and studied performing arts while in school.
Awards: Two $1,000 awards (one for each school).
For Bella Vista High School Students Only
DonNoe & Associates Scholarship
Eligible to apply: Bella Vista High School graduation senior planning to attend American River College and pursue a career in public service
Award: One $500 Scholarship
For Del Campo High School Students Only
Del Campo Avid Scholarship sponsored by the Eidem Family Foundation
Eligible to apply: Del Campo High School graduating seniors who have participated in AVID for a least three years. Applications are due by March 1.
Award: Four $1,250 Scholarships.
For Mira Loma High School Students Only
INSPIRE MIRA LOMA!
Eligible to apply: Mira Loma High School graduating seniors planning to study science, technology, engineering or math at a four-year university or community college and can present financial need.
Award: Four $1,000 Scholarships.
RAN-SUKKAWALA FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP
Eligible to apply: Mira Loma High School graduating seniors with post-high school graduation plans and for whom this scholarship would be essential
Award: One $1,000 scholarship
For Mesa Verde High School Students Only
Senior Scholarship
The Mesa Verde Senior Scholarship offers seven students support for their future educational expenses.
Eligible to apply: Any graduating senior who is planning to attend an accredited university, college, community college, trade school, vocational school or apprenticeship program
Awards:
Top Scored Applicant: $2,000
Runner Up: $1,500
Runner Up: $1,000
Honorable mention Level 1 (2 awarded): $750
Honorable mention Level 2 (2 awarded): $500
Ward Family Scholarship
The Ward Family Scholarship offers $1,000 to a graduating MVHS senior interested in attending a four-year college or university.
Eligible to apply: Any graduating senior with at least a 4.0 GPA who is planning to attend a four-year university or college and for whom this scholarship would be essential
Award: One $1,000 scholarship
Michael Gebhardt Scholarship
Established in 2008 to honor Michael Gebhardt, a dedicated teacher, coach, and vice-principal at Mesa Verde from 1976 – 2006, this scholarship awards students who have demonstrated ethics and dedication to both their studies and athletics. Mr. Gebhardt was highly committed to supporting students to excel in both academics and athletics. He held the respect of students, staff, parents, colleagues, and the athletic community throughout the Sac-Joaquin section.
Eligible to apply: Any Graduating senior with a minimum accumulated 3.0 GPA or higher who has participated in Varsity athletics and plans on attending an accredited university, community college, trade school, vocational school or apprenticeship program are eligible
Awards:
$500 for one male athlete
$500 for one female athlete

Inspiring Immigrant scholarship
This scholarship was created to motivate individuals who may not think college is for them due to financial need or other barriers they face. All individuals who meet the criteria are encouraged to apply to alleviate the financial burden of entering college.
Eligible to apply: Any graduating senior who immigrated to the United States and is planning to attend a four-year university or community college
Award: Two $500 scholarships
