Grant Programs

Since 2006, the San Juan Education Foundation has been dedicated to supporting the teachers, students, and community of the San Juan Unified School District through our grant programs. We are proud to have invested nearly $800,000 into our classrooms. In Fall 2024, we will be revamping our grant program to ensure that we are funding the most impactful projects for the right reasons at the right time. Our Learning Experience Grant will continue to be open for applications.

Learning Experience Grant

The Learning Experience Grant is designed to foster student development and build community through shared learning experiences, especially at the grade level or entire school site. To promote a community-minded approach, applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their applications in collaboration with their school administrators. We highly recommend grant applications that focus on equity and inclusion.

The deadline for this year’s Learning Experience Grant is December 5, 2024. Applicants will be notified of their application status within 45 days of the deadline. Funded projects should be completed within 180 days of the award. Learning Experience Grants are currently funded up to $5,000.

On behalf of the El Camino High School Music Program and all of our students, we thank the San Juan Education Foundation for their continued support.

The funding for various types of grants varies each year depending on the Foundation’s budget. All teachers and administrative personnel in the San Juan Unified School District are eligible and encouraged to apply.

Grant Reporting

Project, STAR, and Learning Experience Grant recipients are required to submit photos and/or videos documenting the project’s outcomes.

Individuals or groups who do not submit the documentation will be ineligible for future grants.

* Please note that any subscriptions or equipment purchased through the various grant programs listed above become the property of SJUSD and not the individual teacher awardee(s).
