PROPEL

Grant Program

New in 2025

Since 2006, the San Juan Education Foundation has been dedicated to supporting the teachers, students, and community of the San Juan Unified School District through our grant programs. We are proud to have invested more than $890,000 into classrooms.

In Fall 2024, we revamped our grant program to focus on funding projects that have achievement at their core and create the greatest impact in the classrooms of today.

We are excited to share our new PROPEL Grant Program, designed to break down funding barriers and create equitable opportunities for students and educators across San Juan Unified. Guided by a spirit of generosity and collaboration, PROPEL Grants empower educators to dream and implement projects that inspire students and transform classrooms into hubs of learning and growth. The PROPEL Grant Program reopens on January 20, 2025.

PROPEL Grants provide funding* to educators and school-site staff (including classified personnel) to foster rich and inclusive learning experiences. Review our grant policies prior to submitting your grant application.

The PROPEL Grant Program funds projects that:

•       Promote academic achievement for every student.

•       Reaffirm a commitment to creating safe, welcoming, and culturally responsive classrooms that nurture joy and inclusion.

•       Optimize meaningful, engaging, and accessible educational experiences.

•       Provide financial relief to grantees.

•       Empower grantees to develop innovative and dynamic learning environments.

•       Lead to lasting positive change.

To support the various scopes of school-site projects and recognize the diverse needs of our community, we offer three levels of grants.

* Please note that all items purchased through grant programs become the property of San Juan Unified and not the individual awardee.
