Aomboon Ammatya Deasy

Restaurateur and Entrepreneur

Green Oaks Fundamental, Arcade Fundamental, El Camino Fundamental, '94

A San Juan Unified lifer, Aomboon Ammatya Deasy brings a rare blend of financial rigor and agricultural heritage to everything she touches. Born into a farming family, she began her career on the ground at K&J Orchards in Winters, California, where she has spent more than three decades translating hands-on agricultural work into financial stewardship — managing everything from accounts payable to balance sheets while serving as the face and voice of the family business.

She holds two master’s degrees—one in Project Management and one in Finance. She later moved into corporate finance, building experience in investor relations, equity research, investment banking, and international sourcing. At Williams-Sonoma, Inc. and Columbia Sportswear, she managed vendor relationships and negotiated costs across global supply chains, serving as a key link between manufacturing partners and retail operations.

In 2022, Aomboon opened Pomet, a Michelin-recognized, farm-to-table restaurant in Oakland built on a commitment to locally sourced ingredients and sustainability. As Finance Director and Proprietor, she oversees every financial dimension of the business, from tip allocation systems to the delicate balance of food and labor costs that determines a restaurant’s survival. Sometimes you’ll even find her on the cooking line, helping in the kitchen or talking with guests.

Her devotion to community is equally evident in her service as Treasurer on the Board of Directors of Foodwise, the nonprofit steward of San Francisco’s celebrated Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, where she has overseen financial reporting and audit processes since 2017.

Across boardrooms, orchards, and restaurant kitchens, Aomboon Deasy embodies a singular philosophy: that sound financial judgment and deep care for the land are not competing values, but complementary ones.
