Since 2009, the San Juan Education Foundation — in proud partnership with the San Juan Unified School District — has celebrated the remarkable accomplishments of San Juan Unified alumni who exemplify commitment, leadership, and excellence.
Recognizing that extraordinary alumni are supported by dedicated educators and a strong community, we also celebrate individuals and organizations who champion public education and make a lasting difference in the lives of students.
Our honorees are celebrated each year at the San Juan Education Foundation’s signature event, An Evening with the STARS.
We Celebrate Three Distinct Honors:
STARS Hall of Fame
Honoring distinguished San Juan Unified alumni who have made a lasting impact in their professional fields. STARS Hall of Fame honorees reflect the spirit of commitment, excellence, and leadership fostered by a San Juan Unified education.
Bryan McKrell Shining STARS Award
Presented to an individual or organization whose outstanding contributions have advanced the work of the Foundation and the District. Shining STARS are champions of inspired teaching, student opportunity, and educational equity.
Legacy STARS Award
Recognizing a former San Juan Unified educator (certificated or classified) whose lifetime of service has shaped generations. This honor celebrates those whose dedication, leadership, and mentorship have left an enduring legacy in our schools and community.
