Eligible to Apply: Mira Loma High School graduating seniors planning to study science, technology, engineering or math at a four-year university or community college who can present financial need.

Award: Four $1,000 scholarships

Del Campo AVID Scholarship

AVID - Proven Achievement, Lifelong Advantage, and the Del Campo CougarsSponsored by the Eidem Family Foundation

Applications are due by March 6

Eligible to Apply: Del Campo High School graduating seniors who have participated in AVID for at least three years, and:

  • Are UC/CSU eligible
  • Have completed 25 hours of community service over the past two years
  • Have submitted a FAFSA application

Award: Four $1,500 scholarships

Tim Thompson STEM Scholarship

STEMThe Tim Thompson STEM scholarship was created to honor the memory of Tim Thompson, Bella Vista class of 2011. We hope this scholarship keeps his memory alive and assists anyone selected in furthering their future in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathmatics (STEM).

Eligible to Apply: Bella Vista High School graduating senior with plans to study in a STEM-related field who can demonstrate need.

Award: One $1,000 scholarship

Inspiring Immigrant Scholarship

This scholarship was created to motivate individuals who may not think college is for them due to financial need or other barriers they face. All individuals who meet the criteria are encouraged to apply to alleviate the financial burden of entering college.

Eligible to Apply: Any graduating senior who immigrated to the United States and is planning to attend a four-year university or community college.

Award: Two $500 scholarships

Ward Family Scholarship

The Ward Family Scholarship offers $1,000 to a graduating MVHS senior interested in attending a four-year college or university.

Eligible to Apply: Any graduating senior with at least a 4.0 GPA who is planning to attend a four-year university or college and for whom this scholarship would be essential.

Award: One $1,000 scholarship (awarded directly to school of choice)

Michael Gebhardt Scholarship

Established in 2008 to honor Michael Gebhardt, a dedicated teacher, coach, and vice-principal at Mesa Verde from 1976 – 2006, this scholarship awards students who have demonstrated ethics and dedication to both their studies and athletics. Mr. Gebhardt was highly committed to supporting students to excel in both academics and athletics.

Eligible to Apply: Any Graduating senior with a minimum accumulated 3.0 GPA or higher who has participated in Varsity athletics and plans on continuing their education.

Award:

  • One $500 scholarship for one male athlete
  • One $500 scholarship or one female athlete

Mesa Verde Senior Scholarship

The Mesa Verde Senior Scholarship offers seven students support for their future educational expenses.

Eligible to Apply: Any graduating senior who is planning to attend an accredited university, college, community college, trade school, vocational school or apprenticeship program

Award:

  • Top Scored Applicant: $2,000 scholarship
  • Runner Up: $1,500 scholarship
  • Runner Up: $1,000 scholarship
  • Honorable mention 1: $750 (2 scholarships)
  • Honorable mention 2: $500 (2 scholarships)

Empowering Young Women Scholarship

Only for 2025

Funded by the Pilegaard Family Education Fund, this scholarship will award one $20,000 ($5,000 annually) to support one Mesa Verde High School student through four years of post-high school education.

Eligible to Apply: Female or female-identifying senior at Mesa Verde High School, graduating with the class of 2025 who has a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher at the time of application.

Award: One $20,000 distributed in $5,000 increments over the next four years.

Prism Award

Stonewall Foundation of Greater SacramentoIn support and recognition of younger students who are looking towards their future educational expenses, the Prism Award celebrates diversity, equity and inclusion.

Eligible to Apply: 9th - 11th graders who are self-identified members or allies to the LGBTQ+ community and willing to be interviewed via Zoom by the Stonewall Foundation Selection Committee.

Award: Two $1,000 scholarships

Charlene Jones Advocacy Award

Stonewall Foundation of Greater SacramentoNamed for Charlene Jones, who wrote the charter and bylaws for the Stonewall Foundation and created all the mechanisms and momentum required to sustain the Foundation for the past eight years. Known for accurately identifying gaps and unmet community needs and springing into action to fill them with meaningful solutions, this awards honors Charlene now and ensures her legacy is passed on to the youngest members of our Sacramento LGBT+ community.

Eligible to Apply: A graduating senior who is a self-identified member or ally to the LGBTQ+ community and is willing to be interviewed via Zoom by the Stonewall Foundation Selection Committee.

Award: One $2,000 scholarship

FLINT Design-Build Master Builder Scholarship

FLINTFLINT believes strongly in the value of vocational education. This scholarship was created to support students who wish to pursue practical post-secondary education and job training for a construction-related career.

Eligible to Apply: A graduating senior interested in pursuing a construction-related career with a GPA of 2.5 or higher at the time of applying.

Award: One $1,000 scholarship.

Sacramento Kids Dentistry Scholarship

Sacramento Kids Dentistry was founded to transform how kids and parents feel about visiting the dentist. Today, Dr. Maha is extending that mission by giving back to the community. Through a scholarship for high school seniors, the practice empowers local youth, supports their educational dreams, and reinforces its commitment to making a positive impact beyond the dental chair.

Eligible to Apply: A graduating senior who is or has been seen at Sacramento Kids Dentistry (or a sibling), has a GPA of 3.0 or above, and whose household income is less than $100,000 per year.

Award: One $1,000 Scholarship

Sacramento Women’s Chorus Jean Schultz Memorial Performing Arts Scholarship

We love to sing! Sacramento Women's ChorusFor over 35 years the Sacramento Women’s Chorus (SWC) has been performing in the Sacramento Area to honor peace, justice, and social equality. The Sacramento Women’s Chorus is a proud Best Practices Gala Choruses Member. This scholarship recognizes and celebrates young women who love the performing arts. Jean Schultz was a 20+ year member of SWC and was an integral part of its tremendous growth. She served in many roles and was President for several years. Jeanie passed away in July 2023, and she is sorely missed. This scholarship is a tribute to her passion and commitment to SWC.

Eligible to Apply: Graduating seniors from El Camino and Mira Loma High Schools who identify as female and studied performing arts while in school.

Sustainability Scholarship

Republic ServicesCitrus Heights - Solid roots. New growth.

Three Sustainability Scholarships of $1,000 each will be offered again this year thanks to Republic Services, a national recycling firm serving over 2,700 municipalities and communities nationwide, and the City of Citrus Heights.

Eligible to Apply: Any San Juan Unified graduating senior residing in the City of Citrus Heights interested in pursuing a career in environmental studies or sustainability.

This memorial scholarship honors Dr. Taylor Morrisette Brown, a talented scientist and scholar, by supporting students within the San Juan Unified School District who demonstrate excellence and passion in STEM fields.

Eligible to Apply: Any graduating senior with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 who plans to pursue post-secondary education in the fields of science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM).

Ray Tolleson Memorial Scholarship

The Ray Tolleson Memorial Scholarship honors the memory and lifelong dedication of Ray Tolleson, who began his teaching career in 1960 with the San Juan School District at Earl La Gette Elementary School. His commitment to education earned him the title of California’s Superintendent of the Year in 1996 before his retirement in 1998. This scholarship serves as a tribute to Ray’s passion for teaching and his enduring impact on the San Juan School District community.

Eligible to Apply: Any graduating senior planning to pursue a career in education.

In loving memory...The Richard and Arline Baca Memorial Scholarship honors the memory and lifelong dedication of Richard and Arline to public education. Arline worked as a teacher for San Juan Unified for many years and Richard worked for the State Department of Education.

Eligible to Apply: Any graduating senior planning to pursue a career in education.

Award: One $2,500 scholarship

Cal Worthington Memorial Scholarship

Cal Worthington and his dog SpotThis scholarship honors Cal Worthington, a decorated WW2 veteran who later became a legendary car dealer and one of the most successful farmers in California. Seeking to remember Cal Worthington, this scholarship provides young people an opportunity to continue their education in some of the areas that were meaningful to him.

Eligible to Apply: Graduating seniors (or adults completing their GED/Diploma) planning to continue their education in automotive technology, the military, media arts, aviation, business, agriculture, or the culinary arts.

Award: One qualified student from each of San Juan Unified's nine high schools and one student from the alternative education high school program will be eligible for a scholarship. Each scholarship is $1,500 except for Encina and San Juan High Schools where each student will receive a $2,000 scholarship. Additionally, there is a $1,500 scholarship available for a student from San Juan Unified’s Adult Education Program who has received their GED/diploma in the current school year.

Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council Student Scholarship

Superintendent’s Student Advisory CouncilThe Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council (SSAC) aims to develop initiatives and amplify student voices to create positive change. Working in partnership with the superintendent and staff, this group manages and selects students to receive scholarships through this fund.

Eligible to Apply: Any graduating senior with post-high school education plans.

Award: Ten $500 scholarships
