Vera Vaccaro

Retired SJUSD Principal

Vera Vaccaro brings to the Foundation Board 37 years of experience in the field of education. Her work experience in education began as a physical education teacher at Mesa Verde High School, and ended with her retirement as Principal at Del Campo High School.

Vera has an extensive coaching background. She was selected as the first coach for both high school girl’s basketball and softball teams for the Optimist All Star games. Vera was also inducted into both the Sacramento Area Coaches and Officials Hall of Fame and the C.K. McClatchy High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

Vera continues to serve the community through her work with the Kiwanis Club of Carmichael and their Youth Services committee. Vera believes that all children deserve a quality education, not only so that they can reach their full potential, but more importantly so they learn the importance of service to others.
